Resource Centre

Resources that support a ‘better place to work’.

The Resource Centre offers a number of practical resources to ensure you’re accessing what you need to know for promoting positive mental wellbeing in your workplace.

These resources will be of interest to employers that have a strong foundation in occupational health and safety, and want to go ‘above and beyond’. These resources will help you to build a workplace environment that is supportive, cohesive and respectful, which ultimately enables workers to be more engaged, positive, and effective at work.

Resources have been categorised according the six pillars of promoting positive mental health in the workplace (see Guidelines for organisations document):

  • Mental health and wellbeing strategy
  • Developing a work environment that promotes positive mental health
  • Positive leadership style
  • Communicating Effectively
  • Recruitment and Selection of Employees
  • Supporting and Developing Employees

For examples of how local employers are promoting positive mental wellbeing in their workplace, check out the Case Studies category.

Under Victoria’s Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, employers must, so far as is reasonably practicable, provide and maintain a working environment that is without risks to health and safety, including psychological health. This means that employers need to eliminate or reduce any risks associated with work-related stress.

For information on how to comply with your legal requirements relating to psychological health, e.g. stress, bullying, fatigue or work-related violence please visit WorkSafe Victoria’s website.
